Closer to Tato. A project that turned audiobooks into a connection between Ukrainian fathers and their children.

Every day, millions of people press play on Spotify. But for thousands of Ukrainian children, that changed on February 24th, 2022, the day the war began. Overnight, many were separated from their dads, some now living hundreds of miles away. We wanted to give them something to hold onto.

Because hearing a loved one’s voice can trigger the same chemical comfort as a hug. So Spotify made it possible for children to fall asleep to their dads’ recorded voices, bedtime stories that brought comfort when nothing else could.

For kids in new countries that don’t yet feel like home, it became a way to fall asleep feeling safe. A way to feel close, even when distance made that impossible.
